Check out his podcasts I'm featured in a couple of them!

1!> How do you feel about the current state of hip-hop and the music industry in general?

In My opinion, its still good. It's not at it's best.. but it's still a B student. Hip Hop now gives you more choices than you ever had a chance to have. You don't have to listen to the radio, and if that's your choice, you now don't even have to listen to the radio in your city. Music is now available to everyone the SAME day. You used to have to in-the-know to have some of the newest songs and latest remixes.. now, an artist can make and song, do a show by the end of the week, and the fans will know the words already.. Hip Hop is as good as u make it today.

2!> What do you think of when you hear the words "Record Deal"

My initial thought is a shoulder shrug, and then I vision in my head, a new car and a gold chain with the labels symbol as the charm. The thing that killed me on "record deals" was seeing JoJo (Runs son) so pressed on the record deal but not on the grind and the talent to deserve one. Its a lot of talented people not signed. All of the best basketball players aren't in the NBA, and all of the best rappers don't drive Maybachs, the love should be a lot deeper for a real artist.

3!> What do you think about the way the media portrays or covers affairs dealing with African Americans?

In general, we don't have enough positive light. Men get good news spoke on us at times but women hardly ever are portray strong, family-oriented, intelligent or just positive. The only positives usually are that they dress nice or are pregnant. Nobody speaks on how many African-American women complete higher education to obtain degrees, hold down many households during the recession, and are holding all positions in the work force today. That's my gripe with the media is that they aren't showing much love to my Michelle's.

4!> Do you feel like the recession is over?

No.. Flat out.

5!> What steps do minorities need to take to create a better community for our children?

Give them more options and activities. Music and sports programs, more discipline at home, parenting classes for young parents, more mentoring classes, summer camps, educational trips etc.

6!> Are we living the dream that Dr. Martin Luther King spoke of in his "I Have A Dream" speech?

I think most of his dream has been fulfilled. Its less of the "man" holding us back and more of us not having the drive and focus to be better, just because we have a black president doesn't mean things are gonna just drop into our hands, we have a lot of work today but we cant blame no one else these days, that's the difference.

7!> What beliefs do you hold onto that motivate you to do what you do?
My faith in God is my daily motivation, God has saw favor in me to keep me around for so long, that I have to be an example of one of HIS children, I fall short at times, but people who know me knows that I honestly try to be a better man every day because I know my Father watches and loves me.

8!> Who in your life has pushed you the hardest concerning your dreams?
No particular person, just people who doubt and look over me. I feel I'm just as good as anyone else in whatever field I'm in.  Whether it's work, personal life, or DJ. The fact that I'm not chosen to do some things, motivates me to make people notice me later or rethink their next decision that I can be involved in. I honestly feel that, if I had the same resources as most of my peers, I would be the best at ANYTHING I put my mind to.

9!> “Black women have always been these vixens, these animalistic erotic women. Why can't we just be the sexy American girl next door?" Tyra Banks
Does the media sensationalize black women in particular more so than any other race??? What do you think of this quote?

I go back and forth with this. My main opinion is just women in general but yes for the most part, black women def get the short end of the stick in this case. There is progress those, a shining example to me is Queen Latifah. She is always respected in any role she has.

10!> What do you feel about the influence the entertainment industry has on children and adults alike?

Its raising our kids and molding the minds of those not strong enough to think for themselves. You have to learn to separate art and life. At this point, there is no way NOT to be influenced by the entertainment. Commercial, movies, videos, talk shows, magazine all dictate with we do everyday.

11!> What do you think do you think about the divorce rate being at %50 percent and what do you think could change this?

My honest answer would be God, prayer and the Bible. You have to know that the one your going to marry is the one God has made for you. If you feel that anything can come in between that, NEVER stop praying that Devil is left out of your unity. Prayer, communication, love, trust, devotion, God and reading the Bible are all equally needed for a marriage.

12!> How vital/valuable do you believe your family is to your success?

They were more of my moral foundation, as of today, Im just motivated to be the best son they could've ever imagined. I never want anyone to be able to go to my parents and be like "Did you hear what Darrell did??" and it be something negative. I will not give someone the chance to do that. I always want to make my parents proud.
13!> Do you believe that college or higher education necessary to be successful?

No.. It will help a lot but I wouldn't say it is necessary. Hard work, determination, having a plan will be able to get you where you need to be nowadays.

14!> What is your definition of SUCCESS?

My success is more internal to me. Knowing that I have developed as a man, a friend, a DJ and a Christian is successful to me. If I allowed others to gauge my success, I would be in the clubs every weekend, DJ'n trying to prove to my peers how good I am. I have seen so many personalities in this city that turns me off that I have taken life outta everyone (else's) hands. You will not be able to tell me how good I am, I already know. I have my tight circle who respect me, my life and my decisions. They understand me. That's all I need. I don't need to follow all of the trends, and opinions that everyone has that makes one cool. I'm cool being Darrell.

15!> "Lyricism is the AIDS of Hip-Hop. Young rappers (and some older ones) want nowhere to be found near a lyrical rapper or MC—for fear of contamination, and subsequent public censure." thoughts??? http://tinyurl.com/yzd6fqs

Once again, hip hop is what you make it. You might not wanna hear all of the dumb, no subject music, but you don't wanna hear lyrics in the club, so its subjective.

16!> Athletes receive multi million dollar contracts but we still have uneducated children and hungry people on the streets… How do YOU feel about this and what, if anything, can we do to change it??

Its just one of those things, you will never see powerade sponsoring the best teacher in the city, but that will spend so much money on a 30 second commercial to build revenue. It would be great to see more money pumped into the educational system, but we don't even wanna pay taxes to have updated books for our children. So we could help a little, but we don't really want to. We need that casino money for the schools.

17!> Health Care Reform… That is all lol THOUGHTS???

I honestly cant speak to much on it because I am one of those people who hasn't educated myself on the topic. From what I hear its a good thing. Ive heard more positive than negative. So I'm for that.

18!> Why is it that is takes a crisis (Haiti/Chile earthquakes, Hurricane Katrina) for people to respond to people that are already in dire straits??

We are tooo stuck into trying get our own thing to jump off that we cant always worry about others. Its HARD out here. As harsh as it seems, we need more funds for us to be better and maybe once we can fix our streets, then we will worry about other neighborhoods.

19!> How do you feel about the word ‘Negro’ being on the 2010 census form??

3 steps forward.. one step back. My question is where is the committee who filters these things. Why wouldn't that raise a flag? smh

20!> How far do you feel we as Americans have gotten away from “Family Values” and is there any reality in a “White-picket Fence” dream??

Our lack of education had hindered us from even know how to buy a house. We don't know the importance of good credit or even knowing how to apply for a loan. We don't even want families, we want baby mommas and we don't want the obligation or having to provide for a family.

21!> Today more than ever, it is becoming increasingly important to generate your own revenue and income because of the slim pickings in the job market. What would you as an entrepreneur tell someone looking to make their passion a career??

Have positive people around and beside you, educate yourself on all outcomes and pray for guidance and wisdom. That's all you can do
