So DebNAir

1.) How do you feel about the current state of hip-hop and the music industry in general?

Well I know you asked about hip hop and I can’t really speak on that.  But let me tell you a little bit about this thing called R&B.  I feel the state of R&B music is flushed down the toilet until….  I got Monica’s album today.  When I tell all my real R&B heads out there that this is the truth I mean every word of it.  SHE IS BACK now we just need the rest of the artists to follow up.  We all like to dance in the club but R&B is supposed to make you feel some kind of way (Besides just having sex) I am glad that Monica realized that her fans loved her because of the music not the gimmick.

2.) What steps do minorities need to take to create a better community for our children?

I personally think it’s up to us the media to step back in these communities and show them how to have a good time.  What happened to the Gus Mackers, The Rib Fest when it was just a good time to see ya friends over the summer, And Juneteenth when we went out to support our local black busniness and supported the art?  We have to instill in our children support of one another.  Hating on each other has gotten us no where so far.

3.)  What beliefs do you hold onto that motivate you to do what you do?

The belief that I hold on to that motivates me is that I own this.  For years, before I decided to do radio I had a lot of call center jobs and I could sell anything to women they didn’t care they loved my voice.  You wouldn’t believe how many times I heard that.

So now when I sign on to the show (and say) “This is ya man that stays Fresh So DebNAir” I know the women are listening.  A female gave me the name So DebNair she said “Your voice is just so suave it's So Debonair.”  But I have been doing videos and playing with sound recorders since I was a kid.  When people talk to me they say I don’t know what it is about you but you’re going to do something great.  I tell Sheron (Nes Wordz) all the time as a kid I never had small dreams

4.) Who in your life has pushed you the hardest concerning your dreams?

I would have to say my Great-grandmother before she passed when I didn’t finish something that I was very passionate about she would say “its alright baby you gonna be something great anyways so don’t let that get you down.”  So when ever things fall through I always think about that.  Also I would have to say Yohannan “Yogi” Terrell & Kamil “Kam” Funderburke. Yogi & Kam have been very instrumental in things that I do.  Every time I see them they leave me with some advice on how to make my next move and let me know how proud they are of me and my team.  Kam always is pushing me to learn more VIA the internet and Yogi always has a idea when I see him that he wants my opinion on.  That pushes me to the max, because a business man like Yogi asking for my opinion or advice is like Diddy asking my opinion or advice on something. (In my eyes)

I may piss a lot of women off with this but that just looks like a list of excuses.  A black woman can be whatever they choose to be and the power of a BLACK WOMAN is something else.  Most black women that use this quote fail to get outside the box and be their selves.  A sexy black women are these mothers out here working their jobs and coming home taking care of business but still having time for her.  A sexy black woman is a woman that knows how to be herself in any shape size or color and carries it with pride.  So that sound like a question that Tyra needs to ask herself.

6.) What do you feel about the influence the entertainment industry has on children and adults alike?

I think it has a lot of influence on children and adults look at how many 5 star chicks and barbies we have LMAO.

7.) How vital/valuable do you believe your family is to your success?

I don’t know about this, family will either REALLY support you or they will REALLY want you to get a REAL job. Sheron “Nes Wordz” Colbert one of the best answers to this question.  The question that you have to ask you self is “have the people that are criticizing you living their dream?” if not then how could they possibly know what you are going through?

8.) What is your definition of SUCCESS?

Drake couldn’t have said it better when you have the money, cars, clothes, and the hoes ROTF LMBO.  No honestly my definition of success is that I no longer talk about what I want to do it’s already in motion.

9.) How far do you feel we as Americans have gotten away from “Family Values” and is there any reality in a “White-picket Fence” dream??

Family values what were those again???  Oh yeah those things that I grew up with lol.  I feel as if parents in this day and time are so focused on being there kids friends that there is no room for morals and values.  I know my parents were never worried about being my friend it was always “Do it because I said so” And “You bet not talk back” I don’t think I ever was told “because I said so” I knew when I was told to do something that it was to be done.

Little girls today are allowed to have boyfriends in 5th grade #WhereTheyDoThatAt???  I was in my front yard and I heard some of the worst language out of some little boys with cell phones.  These kids are allowed to grow up TOO FAST these days.  The reality in a white picket fence is the one the kids tore down and wrote graffiti all over.
