1!> How do you feel about the current state of hip-hop and the music industry in general?
Hip hop is in great shape. Its constantly evolving and quite honestly its taking over the world. Everyone wants to do it but the fact that everyone is trying to is what's separating who's good and who's not.
2!> What do you think of when you hear the words "Record Deal"
Yay for you! Haha I think good for you but ya still gotta grind it out like ya don't have a deal pretty much. Record deals aren't even being handed out as much now and days so I don't think too much when it comes to those words.
3!> What do you think about the way the media portrays or covers affairs dealing with African Americans?
I think its good and bad. We as African Americans have to be responsible for one another and how we put ourselves out there.
4!> Do you feel like the recession is over?
Far from over! But its getting there. Most folks been living in a recession all their lives.
5!> What steps do minorities need to take to create a better community for our children?
Be there for your children and not just in the physical sense. As well as dead the whole "do as I say not what I do" mantra. Do and say people! And ultimately speak optimism in our children. We find it sooooo easy to tear down but can hardly build up.
6!> Are we living the dream that Dr. Martin Luther King spoke of in his "I Have A Dream" speech?
Nope.....ok maybe like 80% of it.
7!> What beliefs do you hold onto that motivate you to do what you do?
My ultimate belief is knowing I can't change the world by myself but I can definitely bring some insight and inspiration. As well as constantly learning about myself and realizing I'm nowhere near perfect. But why not strive to be perfect?
8!> Who in your life has pushed you the hardest concerning your dreams?
There's been so many people! But lately its been the disappointments in my life. The pessimism that comes my way. Will I let it get to me? Will it bring me down? Those are the people who lately have pushed me the hardest.
9!> “Black women have always been these vixens, these animalistic erotic women. Why can't we just be the sexy American girl next door?" Tyra Banks
Does the media sensationalize black women in particular more so than any other race??? What do you think of this quote?
Quite honestly that's the dumbest thing Tyra has ever said! Maybe mostly because I have a crazy mad respect for not just black women but ALL women! And on top of that I have sisters and they don't fit that mold at all.
10!> What do you feel about the influence the entertainment industry has on children and adults alike?
It has a huge influence. The clothes trends fads everything! It can be a gift as well as a curse.
11!> What do you think about the divorce rate being at %50 percent and what do you think could change this?
I think its sad. I feel like people need to take their time when it comes to marriage. But more importantly God needs to be the one in control of your relationship. Once he's in control you'll find that person and things WILL go smoothly.
12!> How vital/valuable do you believe your family is to your success?
VERY VALUABLE! I love my family. They provided me with the morals and values and beliefs that I display in my music.
13!> Do you believe that college or higher education necessary to be successful?
Absolutely. Its something that can definitely be a great asset in your life. I'm living proof.
14!> "Lyricism is the AIDS of Hip-Hop. Young rappers (and some older ones) want nowhere to be found near a lyrical rapper or MC—for fear of contamination, and subsequent public censure." thoughts??? http://tinyurl.com/yzd6fqs
Agree 100% point blank period.
